API documentation

Everything you need to integrate with the Gini v2 Third-Party API.

Categories

Read-only browsing of the product categories your store is granted. The list is scoped to the calling merchant's granted categories, not the whole platform tree. Use them to resolve the category_id / subcategory_id values required when creating or updating products. Both endpoints are GET-only and HMAC-signed; there are no create/update/delete category endpoints.

List categories

Returns every top-level category with its subcategories nested under each one, ordered newest-first. Not paginated — the full tree is returned in a single response.

GET /api/v2.0/third-party/categories

Response
{

        {
            "id": 3,
            "name": "Electronics",
            "slug": "electronics",
            "is_active": 1,
            "image_url": "https://s3.amazonaws.com/gini/categories/electronics.jpg",
            "icon_url": "https://s3.amazonaws.com/gini/categories_icons/electronics.png",
            "subcategories": [
                {
                    "id": 12,
                    "name": "Audio",
                    "slug": "audio",
                    "is_active": 1,
                    "image": "https://s3.amazonaws.com/gini/subcategories/audio.jpg"
                }
            ]
        }
    ]
}
Notes
  • The tree is scoped to the categories your store is granted — another merchant may see a different set.
  • No pagination and no query parameters — the full tree is returned in one payload, ordered newest-first.
  • is_active is an integer from the ActivationStatus enum: 1 = active, 0 = inactive (categories and subcategories).
  • image_url and icon_url are absolute S3 URLs, each null when unset. Subcategories expose their image under the key image (not image_url).
Show category subcategories

Returns the subcategories belonging to the category identified by its slug, as a flat list ordered newest-first. Responds 404 when no category matches the slug.

GET /api/v2.0/third-party/categories/{slug}

Notes
  • The {slug} path segment is the category slug (e.g. electronics), not a numeric id.
  • Only the subcategories are returned — the parent category is not echoed back.
  • When the slug matches nothing, the response is 404 with body {'error': 'Category not found'} — note this read path uses an error key, unlike write endpoints which use message.
